Valentina Moncada describes the effects of 1990s crisis on the art market
Valentina Moncada is lecturer at the Forum organized by the Magazine “Economia e Management” at the Bocconi University of Milan on the relations between Art and Finance.
She analyzes the cycle of recession that in 2008 was already spreading, recommending to invest on art market only in high quality works, better then minor pieces or those of great artists but too commercial. She finally describes her personal experience as witness of an extraordinary moment for the arts, the 1980s, when she worked in New York for the Annina Nosei Gallery, and as gallerist in the 1990s when she opened her own gallery in Rome betting on the youngest emergent talents of the International art world.
